Domaine de Triennes
In 1989, Jacques Seysses (owner of Domaine Dujac), Aubert de Villaine (co-owner of Domaine de la Romanee Conti) and Michel Macaux (a Parisian businessman), came upon the Domaine du Logis-de-Nans, an existing estate in Provence and were attracted by the southern exposure of the vineyards and the clay and limestone soils, which in some areas resemble the great terroirs of Burgundy. They acquired the estate and renamed Domaine de Triennes.
The vineyard is run in a similar manner to Dujac's. Neither insecticides nor acaricides are used and treatments are only performed necessarily but never systematically. The cool climate here encourages a much slower ripening of the grapes, retaining much character. These wines, made by Jeremy Seysses are excellent value for money, showing lovely freshness and great poise.
Grape-varietals: Cinsault (for Rose) is bought from its neighbours, Chardonnay (4.36 ha), Viognier (12.71ha), Syrah (7.7 ha), Merlot (5.11 ha), Cabernet (12.05 ha).
